Aeroballistic Capture at Mars: Modeling, Optimization, and Assessment

چکیده
In this paper a novel paradigm for Mars missions is modeled, optimized, and assessed. This concept consists of maneuver that combines aerocapture ballistic capture upon arrival, labeled aeroballistic capture. The idea reducing the overall cost mass by exploiting interaction with planet atmosphere as well complex sun–Mars gravitational field. first formulated. then split into number phases, each them modeled mathematical means. problem stated using optimal control theory, solutions are sought. These specialized to four application cases. An assessment shows their superiority compared classical injection maneuvers when medium-to-high final orbits about targeted.

Accuracy Assessment of Gully Erosion Susceptibility Map Using SVM and MARS Methods in Shazand Watershed
Gully erosion found to be typical erosion form in semiarid and arid landscape. Because of the importance of this phenomenon, various studies have been conducted around the world to assess gully erosion and its effects. The purpose of this research was accuracy assessment of gully erosion susceptibility maps using SVM and MARS models in the Shazand watershed. Acquiring information about the gull...
متن کاملModeling Mars’ ionosphere with constraints from same‐day observations by Mars Global Surveyor and Mars Express
[1] We have analyzed a brief period of same‐day observations of the Martian ionosphere using data obtained in December 2004 from the Mars Global Surveyor (MGS) and Mars Express (MEX) radio occultation experiments. These data were taken shortly after sunrise under solstice conditions in both hemispheres, with MGS in the summer (northern) hemisphere at high latitudes while MEX was in the winter (...
متن کاملMars atmosphere. Mars methane detection and variability at Gale crater.
Reports of plumes or patches of methane in the martian atmosphere that vary over monthly time scales have defied explanation to date. From in situ measurements made over a 20-month period by the tunable laser spectrometer of the Sample Analysis at Mars instrument suite on Curiosity at Gale crater, we report detection of background levels of atmospheric methane of mean value 0.69 ± 0.25 parts pe...
متن کاملAtmospheric Escape at Mars
Introduction: Several mechanisms have been identified to result in escape of the Martian atmosphere. These mechanisms can be divided in two groups [1]: • Thermal escape or Jeans escape, which corresponds to the loss of atoms in the high energy tail of the energy distribution at the exobase. This mechanism is important only for the light species such as hydrogen or deuterium. • Non-thermal escap...
متن کاملModeling of Venus, Mars, and Titan
Increased computer capacity has made it possible to model the global plasma and neutral dynamics near Venus, Mars and Saturn’s moon Titan. The plasma interactions at Venus, Mars, and Titan are similar because each possess a substantial atmosphere but lacks a global internally generated magnetic field. In this article three self-consistent plasma models are described: the magnetohydrodynamic (MH...
